Our story
Our journey started with a laptop in a Darlington living room in 2006. A lot has changed since then and we now employ over 40 staff across five offices throughout County Durham.
2006
Venture Properties is founded with a laptop, a mobile phone and a lot of determination in a Darlington living room.
2008
Venture moves to its new office and branches out in to sales, joining forces with local estate agent Manager, Carl, and his close-knit team.
2011
We open our second office, Chester-le-Street, headed up by Lynne.
2013
Two years later, Julie opens up branch number 3 in Crook.
2014
Our Durham City branch, with Todd as Director, opens as our fourth office.
2014
It's a double whammy this year for us. We open office number 5 in Cockerton Village, Darlington.
2016
Almost £4000 is raised in our most successful Macmillan Coffee Morning yet.
2016
Venture releases its first hilarious Christmas video. It went down a storm and had thousands of likes on social media.
2017
Community is important to us. We sponsored the Northern Echo's Local Heroes awards for the second year running.
2017-2019
Venture raises over £20,000 in 'Tour de Branch' charity bike rides, starting in Chester-le-Street and visiting all of our offices before completing the gruelling 41-mile challenge and finishing in our Head Office in Darlington. Charities we raised money for included the Great North Air Ambulance Service, Alzheimer's Society and Deerness Kennels.
2021
We outgrow our Crook office and move to a larger premises on the market place in the centre of town.
2022
We launch our new website.
2023
We're an award-winning estate agent and here's the proof. This year we won the Best Estate Agent Guide 2023 for Sales and Lettings for the entire company, as well as the British Property Awards Gold Winner for 'Best Letting Agent in Darlington'. This award goes alongside the following that we've won in previous years:
2018-19 – British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Letting Agent in North East’.
2019-20 – British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Sales Agent in Chester-le-Street'.
2019-20 – British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Letting Agent in Durham’.
2020-21 - British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Letting Agent in Darlington’.
2021 – Gold Award Winner for EA Masters, Durham office.
2022-23 - British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Letting Agent in Durham’.
2022-23 - British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Sales Agent in Chester-le-Street’.
2023 - Best Estate Agent Guide's Winner for Sales and Lettings for all of our branches.
2023-24 - British Property Awards Gold Winner ‘Letting Agent in Darlington’.
2024
Our Chester-le-Street underwent a full refurbishment of their office and also won the British Property Awards Gold Winner for 'Estate Agent in Chester-le-Street'.
