‘Tis the season to be jolly, and there is certainly plenty of festive fun happening around County Durham this December.
We know you’ve probably got a lot of stuff(ing) to sort out, whether that’s last-minute shopping or frantically writing cards, so we’ve pulled together a list of some of the events the region has to offer - so you don’t have to.
Christmas at Beamish
Beamish is always a hit at Christmas, with its amazing seasonal sights and delicious tastes of Christmas in the past. If you want to experience the magic for yourself, from visiting Father Christmas to skating on the ice rink, tickets are still available over various dates during the second half of December.
Santa’s Enchanted Wonderland Grotto at The Bowes Museum
If your children are still believers, why not visit Santa’s workshop at The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle? There will be Christmas crafts, the opportunity to meet Santa Claus himself and an early Christmas present for every child who visits. Booking is quick and easy, so get your time slot while you can!
Festive food
There are plenty of themed goods on offer across County Durham this December and if the classics with a twist is what you’re after, check out Breakfast with Father Christmas and High Tea with Father Christmas at Raby Castle; they’re suitable for all the family!
Wharton Park Elf Trail
If you don’t know who Elf on the Shelf is by now, where have you been? Some of the red-hatted mischief makers have got lost in Wharton Park, Durham and anyone who finds them all gets a special Christmas treat – just pick up a trail sheet from the café between 10am and 4pm up until 6th January, 2019.
If you’re as excited about Christmas as we are, or have other events you’d like to share, let us know at @ventureprop; we’d love to hear from you!
