Tips for the perfect Summer BBQ
Summer is here and we know that this season means one thing - it’s BBQ time. Fulfilling the role of the perfect host can seem like a daunting task, so we’ve pulled together some top tips to ensure that you are in-the-know on how to host a stress-free, delicious and crowd-pleasing BBQ.
Preparation is key
From checking the weather forecast to being on top of your guest list, it is always good to know that your BBQ will not fall victim to an unexpected thunderstorm or end up a hot dog too short. If you know your garden can become a bit of a sun trap, remember to have some shade available and plenty of refreshments.
Food glorious food
From burgers to chicken kebab skewers, your food choice can be as simple or lavish as you wish. A pre-prepared potato salad or some classic corn on the cobs are easy to make and always go down a treat – is a BBQ even a BBQ without sides?
Mastering the equipment
We have all had a runaway sausage and flipped a burger over the edge before, so make sure you have the right equipment and the correct BBQ for the day. A charcoal BBQ with a lid is a good way to be certain that you’ll get that extra smoky flavour!
Utilising your space
If your garden isn’t huge – don’t’ panic! Just make sure that there are plenty of seats and a nice environment for people to relax in. This may just mean mowing the lawn and having a quick tidy around. You could even try adding some fairy lights to the garden, adding a cosy feel as the sun sets.
Activities
A few fun games or some summertime music will always go down a treat at a get together. It’s also a perfect excuse to get those water guns out of the loft…
