Three things team Venture are digging

Posted on 17th December 2020

With the Christmas countdown in full swing and the cold, dark nights rolling in, we thought that it would be a great time for our next ‘Three things team Venture are digging’ blog. In the fifth instalment of our insider feature, director Lynne Stephenson from our Chester-le-Street office is diving into what she has been digging…

If money were no object…

I would buy myself a cottage in the Lake District or on the Northumberland coast as I love to get away from it all and enjoy some well-deserved rest and recuperation. I work in a very busy industry and sometimes you just need to put your feet up, turn off your phone and laptop and indulge in a gin and tonic.

The garden

This year we extended our home to incorporate a new kitchen, dining and living space which I am delighted with. The garden is next! Due to coronavirus, we put it off this summer but intend to remodel in the spring.

I love the garden and enjoy scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest posts to find inspiration for my next project and how the garden’s look can complement my home.

When you open the bi-fold doors into the garden, you’re expanding your home with another room. So plans are coming together and I plan to work on my green oasis in the coming months - my husband is hoping it’s not going to cost him another arm and a leg.

TV

I’ve been loving watching John Bishop’s Great Whale Rescue on ITV. It’s an interesting documentary recorded by a BAFTA-winning wildlife producer and I must say, I was hooked.

They were trying to relocate two white beluga whales from captivity in Shanghai, to their new home in Iceland by air, road and sea. A rescue that should have taken several days took over 18 months due to coronavirus. It was amazing to see how they did it and the care that was taken by the whole team to move the whales, while making sure they were healthy and happy. One to watch if you haven’t seen it already.
