In the Summer holidays, it can hard to keep the family entertained. With the weather being better than ever, there are plenty of fun outdoor activities and events happening across County Durham!

Kynren: An epic tale of England
30th June – 15th September
Experience an action-packed live blockbuster performed by a cast and crew of 1,000. We promise you’ll be blown away by the world class show that provides an immersive and entertaining time travel adventure!
The showis brought to life with outstanding sets, stunts and special effects set to a thrilling soundtrack. There are 17 performances over the summer, so you don’t have to worry about missing out!

Hardwick Park: Toddler Tales and Trails – The Very Greedy Bee

Enjoy a fewhours out in the sunshine with the little ones at Hardwick Park. The day consists of fun park trails and craft activities at the beautiful country park, with sessions specifically designed for children ages two to five, at £4 per person.

Beamish Museum: Festival of the ‘50s

Party in the Park
Sunday 15thJuly – 12:00-17:00
Blackhill and Consett Park is hosting a day jam-packed with family fun – all for free. Live music, children’s rides and face painting are just a few of the activities available, and a free shuttle bus service will operate from Derwentside College to the park on the day of the event, too.

Hogwarts Day
Tuesday 31st July – 9:00-18:00
Lanchester Garden Centre are hosting an afternoon of ‘wizardry, mandrake making, magic, potion making and adventure’.There are two sessions available: 9:00-12:30 (includes breakfast) or 14:30-18:00 (includes afternoon tea).

Superhero Barbecue

Gin and Beer Festival
Saturday 25th&Sunday 26th August – 12:00-22:00
The gin and beer festival has arrived for two days of family fun and (hopefully) glorious sunshine!
