Can you believe another year has gone already? It’s been a really busy year, as usual, for the whole company. Here’s some of our key takeaways from 2024:
Venture News
We kicked off the year with our Darlington office winning the British Property Award’s ‘Best Letting Agent in Darlington’ award in January. Our Chester-le-Street office then won the same award but for ‘Best Estate Agent’ in Chester-le-Street in April before they moved to newly refurbished premises later in the year.
April also saw the recruitment of our very first drone – Winnie. You might have noticed we’ve really increased our drone photography and videos this year and it’s all thanks to Winnie. She’s been a great addition!
Tasha and Gary, from our Darlington office, have both welcomed babies into their families. Matilda (Tasha) in March and Noah (Gary) in October. The summer saw a flurry of weddings with Hope, from our Darlington office, tying the knot in July and Nicki (Crook office) and Jack (also Darlington office) getting married the following month. A huge congratulations to all of them and their partners.
Our social media channels have continued to grow in popularity, with our Facebook followers increasing by over 20% in 2024 alone. We now have over 6300 followers!
Industry News
The main industry news for this year has obviously been the change in government. The new Labour government has launched several policies relating to the housing industry, including the Renters’ Rights Bill, ambitious plans to build an extra 1.5m homes over the next 5 years and changes to the EPC regulations from 2030.
While interest rates have come down, unfortunately not as fast as the country would have hoped. Most economists are predicting they will continue to fall over the next two years, though.
