It’s been another hectic year for us at Venture with the property market throwing up plenty of drama. Interest and mortgage rates up and down, indefinite delays to the government’s flagship lettings policy (the Renters Reform Bill) and the scrapping of new proposed EPC regulations means we’ve really had to be on our game to keep up with it all.
The Best Estate Agent Guide awarded the whole of Venture Properties as their winner early in the year for both sales and lettings. Not many agents can boast both arms of their agency being so strong and as you can imagine we were delighted to have this morale boost early on in 2023.
The King’s Coronation in May gave us all another lift and parties were had across the company. A big shout out to our Crook branch, who always go above and beyond when it comes to jazzing up their office on special occasions.
A busy but (very) wet summer gave way to autumn, where we raised over £2000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Nicola from our Crook office even appeared on the BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer.
The fourth and last Venture baby of the year was born in October with Connor (Durham), Mia (Crook), Grace (Darlington) and Becca (Darlington) all welcoming new arrivals this year. Babies aside, we’ve also had milestone birthdays with plenty of 30th and 40th celebrations, although we’ll leave staff anonymous to spare their blushes.
In November, our Darlington office was delighted to win the British Property Awards’ ‘Best Letting Agent in Darlington’ award again. This follows on from our Durham and Chester-le-Street offices winning the same award for their locations the previous year (2022-23). Originally founded as a Letting Agent, lettings is in our DNA and we’re extremely proud to still be performing so strongly in this arm of estate agency all these years later (this year is our 17th year as a company).
As the year drew to a close, we launched our Christmas video on Facebook (our first in 6 years) to many giggles and great feedback from our followers. It’s exciting times for our Chester-le-Street office who have moved into new open plan offices upstairs at the same site as they currently occupy and are ready to start 2024 with a bang.
